From April 2026, HMRC requires self-employed people and landlords earning over £50,000 to keep digital records and send a short update each quarter. MTD Control does the record-keeping and prepares the updates; a partner accountant submits them.

No - and we are clear about that. Driksoett is the software and operations layer. Your annual return and any HMRC submissions are handled by a qualified partner accountant from our network, subject to the scope you've agreed. On Standard, this is included. On Lite, it's an optional add-on (£180).

Two different roles. Maya is your Driksoett reviewer - a real human who watches your records each week and asks the questions when something needs you. Iris is your partner accountant -  a seperately named regulated progessional who reviews your year-end pack and handles the regulated submission. Both names appear in your app. Both are accountable for their part.
Maya, and Iris, are place holder names for the "demo" of the app.

Most clients do. You can keep them - and many of them prefer it that way, because we hand them a clean Accountant pack at year-end instead of a showbox. If you'd rather use one of our partner firms instead, we'll introduce you and help with the handover letter. We do not replace your accountant. We feed them better records.

If you're self-employed with one main income stream, possibly one rental, and your accounting situation is genuinely simple - yes. If you have employees, VAT, stock, a limited company, or multiple properties, MTD Control isn't right for you yet. Use the scope check, or email us - we'd rather say no than sell you the wrong thing.

MTD Control is a 12-month minimum. MTD is a year-round rhythm, not a one-off filing, and the price only works if we can plan around the year. After 1 months it's month-to-month. We hand your records over in any format you want, with no exit fee.

You take it. All records, receipts, and the Accountant Pack format export cleanly to CSV, PDF, and a partner-readable bundle. UK-hosted. Encrypted in transit and at rest. We aim to be the easiest accounting decision you've made - including the decision to leave, if it ever comes to that.

We'll spot it before you do - a VAT threshold approaching, a second rental added, a Ltd. company forming - and we'll show you the move up to Operations before it becomes a problem. No upgrade surprises, no scope creep on Lite.

The submission route we use is. Driksoett itself is the operations and software layer; the HMRC-facing relationship is held by our partner accountants, who submit via HMRC-recognised software under their own regulated authority.
